Tributes have poured in for veteran TV icon and actor Moses Lim who passed away on Feb. 11, 2025 at the age of 75.

Actress and DJ Vernetta Lopez, who played Denise Tan, the daughter of Lim's character, also shared fond memories of working with Lim on the set of Under One Roof, according to CNA.

Lopez was quoted as saying:

"He gave me gold gifts on my wedding day—just like a real daddy. He was always the joker on our group chat and he fiercely loved 'Under One Roof'."

She praised Lim for being an "absolute pro" on set and highlighted how he broke new ground for Chinese actors coming over to English television.

Mediacorp actress Aileen Tan also put up an Instagram story in which she thanked Lim for the many "wonderful memories".

"You will always be remembered. Wishing you a peaceful journey," she wrote.

Jack Neo recalls the moments when they worked together for Comedy Night

Film director Jack Neo also paid tribute to Lim in a Facebook post in Mandarin, calling his loss a shock and recalling moments when they worked on "Comedy Night" together.

"I thank you for the days when we created 'Comedy Night' together. We started as strangers, met by chance and eventually became the best partners. You were one of the most precious people in my life," Neo wrote.

According to Neo, it was a period marked by vibrant creative energy as they would brainstorm ideas for the sketches and rehearse together, adding material and adjusting the lines, even preparing for moments such as their co-star Henry Thia forgetting his lines.

Neo also recalled how he had invited Lim to the premiere of his latest movie, his joy when he agreed and how he ended up comforting Lim on the day of the premiere when Lim sent a message saying he could not come because he had a cold.

Neo then concluded his post by telling Lim he could finally rest.

Tributes pour in from chefs as well

Apart from his fellow actors and actresses, tributes were also paid by several chefs to Lim, in acknowledgement of his passion for food.

Singapore celebrity chef Eric Teo recounted how Lim introduced him to Mediacorp and taught him "many things" about being on television, and how they had collaborated on various food promotions.

"Moses was more than a friend to me. He was also my mentor, partner and a brother in Christ. I am saddened by the news of his passing and I will miss Moses dearly," Teo wrote on Instagram.

Another chef who collaborated with Lim on the Iron Man Dine F&B concept, Heman Tan, also wrote on Instagram, "Take care on your journey! Thank you for your laughter and guidance."
