Airports in India have also started screening visitors flying in from Singapore and Thailand, the two countries with the highest number of cases in Southeast Asia.
Previously, a poster by a Malaysian hospital circulated around Facebook, which asked visitors if they had recently been to China, Wuhan, Singapore, or Sabah.
It was taken down shortly after facing online backlash, and the hospital issued a statement of apology on Facebook.
