The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced another two new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus on Feb. 6, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Singapore to 30.

MOH added that contact tracing for the confirmed cases is ongoing and the health authorities are closely monitoring all close contacts.

As of Feb. 6, 12pm, MOH has identified 435 close contacts.

Of the 353 who are still in Singapore, 348 have been contacted and are being quarantined or isolated. Efforts are ongoing to contact the remaining five close contact.

2 infected patients' conditions worsened

MOH also updated about the status of the existing infected patients.

According to the news release, two existing infected patients' conditions have worsened.

One of them is currently in critical condition and is warded in the intensive care unit (ICU).

The other patient requires additional oxygen support.

Of the remaining 27 infected cases, most patients are in stable condition or improving.

Yesterday, the MOH updated that all 27 cases were in stable or improving condition.

First case of discharge

Of the 30 confirmed cases reported so far, one of them, a 35-year-old man, was discharged on Feb. 4, 2020.

The man, who was the seventh confirmed case in Singapore, had fully recovered from all symptoms and was tested negative for the coronavirus for three consecutive days prior to discharge.

According to MOH's director of medical services, Kenneth Mak, at the press conference on Feb. 4, another patient could be discharged in a few days' time.
