Free entry to Sentosa from Mar. 14-22, aims to help 'protect the livelihoods' of S'poreans

It coincides with the March school holidays.

This March school holidays, visitors will be allowed to enter Sentosa for free.

The offer runs from Mar. 14 to 22, 2020.

Apart from offering guests a "much-needed getaway", a Sentosa Development Corporation spokesperson said that the free entry would also support businesses on the island.

They also added that this would also help to "protect the livelihoods" of fellow Singaporeans.

"After all, a healthy dose of sunshine and fresh air could be a boost to one's health."

By Sentosa Express trains & personal vehicles

Visitors can enter for free via the Sentosa Express trains by tapping their EZ-link cards without being charged.

Vehicles with a locally registered IU (except motorcycles) can also drive into Sentosa for free.

Other existing free methods to enter the island also includes walking on the Sentosa Boardwalk.

Confirmed cases previously visited resort island

Just yesterday (Feb. 11), the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that the 46th person in Singapore to have the coronavirus had gone to work at Resorts World Sentosa Casino (8 Sentosa Gateway) before he was admitted to the hospital.

A few other confirmed cases had previously stayed at hotels in Sentosa including Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort and Village Hotel Sentosa.

In a report by The New Paper, the island had seen a 20 per cent to 50 per cent drop in visitors since the outbreak last month.
