In a Facebook post on Feb. 1, the government has called out "false rumours" involving a supposed list of places to avoid due to the Wuhan virus.

The message circulating around on Telegram and WhatsApp contained a list of areas, apparently where there were suspected and confirmed cases of the Wuhan virus.

The message , which also urged people to avoid these places, looks something like this:

According to Gov.sg, there is no need to avoid these places where there have been suspected or confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) has also updated that they are providing support to residents and owners of premises with the disinfection of areas.
For one to be infected by a confirmed case, he/she has to have close contact with the person.

This is defined as within 2m distance from the infected person for at least 30 minutes, according to the health authorities.

The virus is very unlikely to survive in the physical environment for a few days. The risk of transmission through physical spaces is also extremely low.
