The Philippines and Singapore's Ministry of Health confirmed a case of a Filipino with Covid-19 in Singapore.

The Philippine Star reported on Feb. 23 that a Filipino in Singapore had tested positive for the virus.

It cited a tweet from Brigido Dulay, the Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Concerns at the Philippines Department of Foreign Affairs.

Dulay said that the patient is currently in isolation at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).

He added that the Philippine Embassy in Singapore is in close contact with Singaporean officials to apprise themselves of the patient's condition.

Other Philippines media, including the Manila Bulletin and the Filipino Timesreported the same story.

Who is the Filipino patient?

The Ministry of Health on Monday (Feb. 24) confirmed to Mothership that the Filipino case corresponds to Patient 89, who was the only one who is not a Singapore citizen among a group of three new cases on Feb. 22.

According to MOH, he is the individual who visited the GymBoxx in Bishan.
