Confirmed case at Marina Bay Financial Centre is a S'porean with no recent travel history to China

The patient has previously visited the premises for a short while on Jan 30.

The building manager of the Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC) has informed its tenants about a confirmed case of novel coronavirus in Marina Bay Financial Centre 1 (MBFC T1) on Feb. 8.

MBFC also said that the patient is the only confirmed case in the MBFC portfolio of buildings.

Case visited premises on Jan. 30

In its circular dated Feb. 9, MBFC said that the patient has previously visited the tenant's premises for a short while on Jan. 30.

The patient was sent home after feeling unwell.

MBFC noted that the tenant has "thoroughly disinfected their premises".

The building operations team of MBFC has also disinfected and sanitized all common areas of Tower 1 MBFC, in accordance with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National Environment Agency (NEA) guidelines.

Patient likely to have visited premises on 30 Jan

The MOH announced seven confirmed cases of coronavirus on Feb. 8.

This means that the employee of the MBFC tenant is one of the seven confirmed cases.

Cases 34 and 40 work at Chinese medical hall Yong Thai Hang, while Case 35 and Case 37 is a taxi driver and a private hire driver respectively.

Patient a S'porean citizen

The remaining three cases (Case 36, 38 and 39) are Singaporeans with no recent travel history to China.

Case 36 and 39 have something in common - they had attended the same private business meeting at Grand Hyatt Singapore from Jan. 20 to 22.

Case 38 has visited Marina Bay Sands.
