Kindness that uplifts others in times of uncertainty.

In times of uncertainty, sometimes a simple gesture can really make one's day.

One Muhsin Johari posted this heartwarming account on Facebook on Feb. 21.

According to Muhsin, his friend, a deaf Grab driver, accidentally knocked a Porsche the day before (Feb. 20). The Porsche sustained paint damage and scratches and required repair work.

Grab driver worried and stressed

The Grab driver admitted that it was his fault, and apologised to the lady driver of the Porsche.

Muhsin wrote:

"He was very worried and stressed cos of this bad period due to Covid-19 and low earnings, not only this he just left his company to be a full time private hire driver last December."

Porsche driver absorbed repair costs

However, the Grab driver received some good news yesterday (Feb. 21).

Not only did the lady driver not report him for insurance coverage, she decided to absorb the cost of the repair work which amounted to S$250.

Instead, she requested that he send her daughter to her enrichment class for one day as compensation in-kind because she wouldn't have a car for a few days.

"As a gesture of goodwill, I will absorb the cost and if you wish, you can in exchange give my daughter a lift to her class next week," she wrote in a WhatsApp message to the Grab driver.

When the Grab driver acceded to her request, and said that he did think of offering a ride, the lady driver even wrote, "Thank you, that's very kind of you."

Kindness uplifts others

In his Facebook post, Muhsin wrote that kindness uplifts others:

"I decided to share because kindness is like extending yourself in a way that uplifts another human being. I accidentally knocked the rear of [the Grab driver's] car in the parking zone two weeks ago. Got small dents. I offered him to pay for the repair but he declined it. It's your 'rezeki' (blessing) [that the] Porsche driver did the same afterwards."

Nice!
