Employees at the Environment Building vacated the office premises on Feb. 14 morning, according to Lianhe Zaobao.

The brief Chinese report said this move was made after the discovery of a Covid-19 case, which is possibly a confirmed case.

Environment Building, which is located in Newton, includes the offices of the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, National Environment Agency and Public Utilities Board.

Mothership understands that employees working on level nine were told to vacate the premises.

Mothership also understands that officers on level 9 have been asked to work from home today to facilitate the cleaning and disinfection of the office space.

It is unclear if more than one level was affected.

This is a developing story.
