Coronavirus: 2nd Bangladeshi case worked at same location as 1st Bangladeshi case

Both were 39 year-old male Bangladesh nationals.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced two cases of novel coronavirus (nCoV) infection on Feb. 11, 2020, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 47.

44 out of the 47 cases infected are Chinese nationals or Singaporeans, with two cases involving two Bangladesh nationals and one involving an Indonesian foreign domestic worker.

According to MOH, the latest case (Case 47) involving a Bangladesh national is a contact of the earlier case (Case 42).

They worked at 10 Seletar Aerospace Heights.

Both of them are Singapore Work Pass holders and have no recent travel history to China.

Case 47

Case 47 is a 39 year-old male Bangladesh national who is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID.

He reported onset of symptoms on 6 February, and sought treatment at a GP clinic on Feb. 7. He went to NCID on 10 February, and test results confirmed nCoV infection on 10 February afternoon.

He reported that he had stayed at his rental apartment at Veerasamy Road since the onset of symptoms, except to visit the GP clinic.

Case 42

Case 42 is a 39 year-old male Bangladesh national who is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID.

He reported onset of symptoms on Feb. 1, and had sought treatment at a GP clinic on Feb. 3, and at Changi General Hospital (CGH) on Feb. 5.

He went for a follow-up appointment at Bedok Polyclinic on Feb. 7 and was thereafter admitted to the intensive care unit at CGH.

Subsequent test results confirmed 2019-nCoV infection on Feb. 8 afternoon, and he was transferred to NCID.

Prior to hospital admission, he had visited Mustafa Centre (145 Syed Alwi Road), and stayed at The Leo dormitory (25 Kaki Bukit Road).
