A 22-year-old man, Gabriel Lien Goh, was arrested on Oct. 27 evening after allegedly killing his mother, Lee Soh Mui, 56, and grandmother, 90, at Blk 7A Commonwealth Avenue.

The accused is facing two charges for the alleged murder of his mother and grandmother.

The suspect is now facing two charges -- the second charge for the alleged murder of his grandmother is a new charge that was issued in State Courts on Nov. 18.

Said he had 'no control' over the situation

During his court hearing, Goh was present via live video feed.

Goh said he had not meant for the incident to happen, and that it was an accident.

He also apologised to those who knew his mother and grandmother.

"I want to apologise to the relatives of my mum and grandma. I want to clarify.

What happened was an accident. I had no control over my actions and I never intended for those things to happen," Goh said, but did not elaborate why.

Currently undergoing psychiatric evaluation

Mothership understands that Goh is currently unrepresented, with no defence counsel.

The prosecution officer, ASP Nur Diyana, relayed the Institute of Mental Health’s request for an extension for Goh’s remand, citing ongoing psychiatric evaluation.

The case has been adjourned to Nov. 25.
