On Jan. 25, an Aljunied resident spotted a dead cat that was suspected to have been abused.

The resident snapped a photo and sent it to the Facebook page Yishun 326 Tabby Cat, which is run by volunteers who takes care of community cats.

The cat appeared to have a deep wound on its neck. Its body was left on a tree.

Viewer discretion is advised.

The exact location where the dead cat was found was at Aljunied Road, near the Hong Leong National Kidney Foundation Dialysis Center.

The resident was advised to report the case to the police, and the team of volunteers are also seeking for possible witnesses of the suspected abuse.

What to do when witnessing animal abuse

If you have witnessed a case of animal abuse, call the police at 999 immediately.

If possible, take a picture or film the suspect. Do note the exact location of where the abuse was sighted.

Do not move the body if the animal is already dead. If the animal requires urgent attention, call the SPCA hotline immediately at 6287 5355 ext 9.
