Rio Ferdinand implied Nasi Goreng was from S'pore, and Indonesians lost their minds

More burn than an Indonesian forest.

Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, is in town for the F1 Grand Prix.

While here, he's been doing the usual normal stuff, like chilling...

It was the above tweet, that started a maelstrom of discontent within Indonesian Twitter.

Nasi Goreng

Many took offence with the words local and Nasi Goreng being in the same sentence.

Others tried to claim another food on the plate also.

Some even denied us the luxury of language.

And questioned whether Singapore even had fried rice (We do!)

Singaporeans react

The general reaction of Singaporeans seemed to be "Ok la, ok la, yours la, happy?"

One turned to Wikipedia for reinforcement.

Another did the Twitter equivalent of a long sigh.

But one brave Singaporean soul, gave the burn of a lifetime.
