DPM Teo said in parliament that last month’s security breach at the Woodlands checkpoint was due to a “serious error of judgement” of the ground officers.
He mentioned the officers did not follow standard operating procedures. Hence, the officers involved, including their supervisors, will be disciplined. DPM Teo added that police officers at the Police Cantonment Complex also “exercised poor situation awareness and judgement”.
Two Workers' Party MPs Lee Li Lian and Yee Jenn Jong filed three parliamentary questions on the issue. One assumes that DPM Teo had addressed all their concerns, as CNA reported that DPM Teo "gave a thorough account of the incident".
About 15% of land for golf courses to be freed up for other land uses.
Singapore’s 17 golf courses take up about 1,500 hectares of land, which is about 2 per cent of Singapore’s total land area.
Last year, the Government’s Land Use Plan highlighted plans to phase out several golf courses and allocate the land for housing, public amenities and infrastructure. The changes announced yesterday will affect around 200ha of the land from the golf courses.
